I have more than 25 years experience as a pension fund trustee and for the last 20 years (operating as Progap Consulting) I have provided governance consulting and chaired a number of trustee bodies for large pension schemes of FTSE 100 and other blue chip companies.

I specialise in building sustainable relationships between all scheme stakeholders - I believe the best security for most schemes is provided by a solvent and supportive sponsor and that is better achieved by a more professional approach to the management of trustee boards and their activities.


	I am an Actuary and have an active network with other pensions professionals including other chairmen of trustees representing a wide variety of schemes and experiences. In 2022-23 I was proud to be installed as Master of the Worshipful Company of Actuaries - a thriving community including many other professional Trustees.

	Of course there are other ways of obtaining the support you are looking for, including Corporate Trustees and in-house managers of long experience with the company. You will no doubt have considered those options. However my more individual approach may suit your culture better while at the same time I can share the learning and experience gained by working on similar issues simultaneously with other schemes.
